This site collects as little as possible. No advertising, no third-party trackers, no profiling, no data sold or shared.

Who is responsible

The AI Gov Digest is operated by the site owner. For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights, write to aigov@richert.li.

Analytics

This site uses Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused, open-source analytics tool. It runs on our own server (analytics.app.richert.li) — no analytics provider or third party receives your data.

Plausible does not use cookies and stores nothing on your device. It does not read from localStorage, sessionStorage, or any other browser storage, and it does not fingerprint your device. No consent banner is therefore required under the ePrivacy Directive (Art. 5(3)) or §25 TDDDG, because nothing is written to or read from your terminal equipment.

What is recorded, in aggregate only:

  • Page URL and referrer
  • Browser, operating system, and device type
  • Country (derived from the IP address, which is not stored)

To count returning visits within a day without an identifier, Plausible hashes the IP address together with the user agent and a salt that is rotated daily. The raw IP address is discarded immediately and is never written to disk. Because the salt rotates, the resulting hash cannot be linked across days, across sites, or back to you.

Legal basis: legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — understanding aggregate readership in order to maintain and improve the site. Under the Swiss FADP, this processing is permitted without prior consent.

Newsletter

The weekly digest is sent by email only to people who ask for it. Subscription is fully opt-in and double opt-in: after you enter your address, you receive a confirmation email, and nothing is sent until you click the link in it. If you never confirm, your address is discarded.

Delivery and list management are handled by Brevo (Sendinblue GmbH, Köpenicker Str. 126, 10179 Berlin, Germany), acting as our processor under a data processing agreement. Brevo stores your email address, your confirmation status and timestamp, and standard delivery metadata such as bounces and unsubscribes.

  • Data collected: your email address. Nothing else is required.
  • Purpose: sending the weekly digest.
  • Legal basis: consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
  • Retention: until you unsubscribe. On unsubscribe your address is removed from the list.
  • Withdrawal: every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link. Withdrawing consent is free, takes effect immediately, and does not affect the lawfulness of prior sending.

Hosting

The site is a static site hosted by Vercel Inc. As with any web host, Vercel processes standard server request data (IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent) to deliver pages and to defend against abuse. This is technically necessary to serve the site — legal basis Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. See vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

What this site does not do

  • No cookies are set. Not for analytics, not for anything else.
  • No advertising networks, social media pixels, or cross-site trackers.
  • No profiling and no automated decision-making.
  • Your data is never sold, rented, or shared for marketing.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and the Swiss FADP you may request access to your data, correction, erasure, restriction of processing, or portability, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest. In practice the only data tied to an identifiable person is a newsletter subscription — analytics data is aggregate and cannot be traced back to an individual, so it cannot be individually retrieved or deleted.

To exercise any of these rights, email aigov@richert.li. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Switzerland, the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC); in the EU, your national data protection authority.
